our story

At the beginning of 2020 owner amanda claxton was taking a break from her career while on maternity leave and to her great surprise that maternity leave ended up lasting a year and a half due to the pandemic. turns out this unexpected pause became the perfect opportunity for a reset and amanda decided that when it was time to go back to the salon that it would be time to do something different.

Upon restarting her career amanda made a commitment to offer only eco-conscious products and services and she also began her journey as a cut specialist. and through the alchemy of combining intentional products with intentional service offerings ritual space was born.

in the later half of 2022 amanda found the perfect location to expand this vision. a vintage 1920’s office complex at the end of the strip of the historic jefferson blvd in the oak cliff neighborhood of dallas, tx. and in February of 2023 ritual space officially opened it’s doors.

the services we offer

We pride ourselves on creating a safer salon environment for both our clients and our stylists. our goal is to lower the risk of fumes and toxic chemicals by using premium hair color lines along with non toxic - organic shampoos, conditioners, and styling products.

all of our stylists are experienced artists with a focus in different types of haircare, and we promise that we have a stylist that is the perfect match for your hair needs. to get to know our stylists and the kind of hair they do, head over to our stylists page.

HOW IS RITUAL SPACE DIFFERENT?

  • all products and services at ritual space are cruelty free, phthalate free, paraben free, PPD free, ammonia free and free of synthetic fragrance.

  • at ritual space all services are booked at a gratuity-free, time based hourly rate. this transparent and honest pricing structure is all inclusive and puts you in control of how much time and money you spend.

  • all services are booked by time and not by gender. hair is hair no matter who’s head it’s on.

  • once every three months ritual space hosts a donation based haircut day in which 100% of the proceeds goes towards a local non-profit, mutual aid, or charity.
